Fryderyk Brull ran the inn, the slaughter house and summer huts so called Kogutki (Roosters) and the hotel 'Austria' in Zawoja. He owned plough horses, which he lent to the locals so that they could work in the forest. He also had a horse-drawn omnibus, which was going from Zawoja to Maków Podhalański. He had a a big influence on the promotion of Zawoja as a holiday village, placing announcements in newspapers such as „Słowo Polskie” (A Polish Word), published from 1895 to 1946.
