On the second of April 1944 the troop of Home Army from Sucha Beskidzka - 'Garbnik' was crossing the borded between German Reich and General Government. When they were going past the shrine on Spyrkówka, they came across a Hitlerian patrol. The guerrilla had to use weapons and killed two Germans, and the third one had to run away. As a revenge all the inhabitants of Spyrkówka were gathered around the shrine and were asked about the guerrilla, threatened to be killed if they didn't want to cooperate. As the witnesses believe, thanks to Mother of God from the shrine, after a few hours the Gemans left the place and released all the inhabitants of Spyrkówka – 70 people altogether. On the 70th anniversary of the event a monument was placed nest to the shrine, so as to thank Mother of God for help.
